We went to Amsterdam for the weekend. The plan was to visit the
Late Rembrandt expo, but unfortunately it was sold out for the three
days we were there.
Instead we walked trough the city, looking for nice places to shelter
for the rain.
We discovered two huge, nice vintage stores neeflouis and
Van Dijk & Ko, we bought Dutch cheese in Fromagerie Kef,
we had a delicious dinner in the Hemelse Modder and I bought
two scissors in Six and Sons. A great weekend after all and we
will go back soon with an online reservation for Rembrandt,
before departure.

oma 3

For those of you who wonder how oma's doing, after being brought to
the hospital last week; since yesterday, she's back her good old self!
She's already taking care of others; above you see her preparing bread
for the chickens.

fog

I went to my mom for two days. While yesterday was full of sun, today
there was nothing but thick fog.

all is full of love

Although we don't especially celebrate valentine, I got a heart egg for
lunch. I'm so happy because I can feel spring! I smell it in the air and
I hear the birds feel it too.

la piscine

On the first picture you see a drawing my cousin made when he was
little.
The other pic I made Saturday in the beautiful museum 'la piscine'.
The two black and white photos, by Anne picandet, are from the
swimming pool before it became a museum.

camille claudel

Yesterday, I went to an exhibition of the artist Camille Claudel. As
beautiful as her work is, so tragically ended her life.
Being Rodin's muse, assistant and mistress, he never left his wife for
her.
When her father died, the rest of the family forced her into psychical
hospital against the advice of the doctors. Her committal brought her
career as a sculptress to a brutal end.
movie was made of her life in the asylum.

upside down

First and under pictures I made last year in SMAK.
It's a photo of Rodney Granham.
He made a serie of upside down trees. He explains: 'You don't have to
delve very deeply into modern physics to realize that the scientific
view holds that the world is really not as it appears. Before the brain
rights it, the eye sees a tree upside down in the same way it appears
on the glass back of the large format field camera I use.' (2005)
Seconde picture I made today on my walk with Flynn.

oma 2

Today oma was so weak she could barely stand. She had to go to the
hospital. I hope they will give her good nursing, so she can come back
home soon.
The house feels empty and to big without her. I already miss her
voice calling the cats. And her shamble in the hallway.

oma

Oma is sick. The doctor came over. He told her to sleep and to stay in.
Mali keeps her company, he follows her everywhere. I pass by from
time to time, to have a little chat and to check if she's okay.

human mathematics

Yesterday I saw new work (previous work here) from my niece,
Joanna Reuse, who studies textile design.
This new artwork is the result of a trip she made to Oaxaca, Mexico.
Their she and her fellow students collaborated with the art collective
Various Artists and local Mexican artists.
You can read more about the project here.
